Potential Film Festival Number 1 - Chicago Feminist Film Festival

As a part of our assignment to explore promotional opportunities, I will be researching potential film festivals that I could submit my experimental animation to.

The first option I found suitable on FilmFreeway was the Chicago Feminist Film Festival.

This film festival explores short films that emphasize issues of gender, sexuality, and social justice issues while also spotlighting under represented groups like women and the LGBTQ+ community. This totally fits the theme of my film, which explores sex in a uniquely feminine perspective while also welcoming people of all orientations.

Awards are given in four categories; best in show, fiction, experimental, and documentary. While they don't specify that a short film excludes animation, they don't explicitly confirm it either. I think most likely I would be able to get away with it since it is a short and it is experimental.

The issue of it requiring a Chicago premiere wouldn't be a problem either. My sister lives in Chicago so it would be a welcome experience.

Animatic Night Animatic

Sense and Sensuality Animatic

Well It's Week 8

And I've just started this blog. Whoops. So we will skip all the boooooooring story boarding and jump straight into my recent animatic that I recently screened at Animatic Night. The feedback was very positive. I'll be mulling over the comments I got this week and making changes accordingly.

Week 8 To - Do:

 - story board/animatic revisions.

    -  Focusing on the rhythm of my animatic
    -  Will/how I make my piece more 'masculine'
